But everyone calls me Mike—or “Chewy.” I’m a Canada-based photographer with a passion for documenting the people around me, whether it’s in the studio or out on adventures. My work is driven by curiosity, connection, and a love for capturing authentic moments wherever they happen.
Why I do this
I’ve always been drawn to fashion and beauty—my sister’s issues of Vogue transported me around the world, sparking a curiosity that never left. As I grew older, skateboard culture gave me a sense of community and a raw, authentic world to document. Today, I continue to do what I do for the simplest reason: I genuinely enjoy it.
How I work
I believe in fostering a collaborative environment where ideas can be shared openly, ensuring that everyone involved feels valued and heard.
At the same time, I remain actively engaged throughout the process—anticipating needs, solving problems on the spot, and maintaining a hands-on approach to ensure the best possible outcome. This balance of teamwork, ingenuity, and initiative is central to how I work.
Fun Facts about me
I grew up skateboarding and snowboarding, and I still enjoy both immensely. I’ve always loved the cultures surrounding them—the sense of freedom, creativity, and connection they foster. That lifestyle continues to influence my creative process today, grounding it in a spirit of social interaction and playfulness that keeps my work dynamic and inspired.
